How does SBC work?

Start Bench Cut puts three legends on the table — here, Jordan, LeBron or Kobe — and gives you one roster spot. Tap the player you’d start, then the one you’d keep on the bench. The last one gets cut, and the game tells you how cold that was.

Every verdict is counted. Once your three are settled, each card shows how often the rest of the world has started, benched or waived that player, so you can see at once whether your call is the popular one or the hot take.

Play again spins the reels for a fresh random three from the whole pool, and Share saves this trio as an image with your three verdicts stamped on the cards.

Start Bench Cut FAQ

What is Start Bench Cut?

Start Bench Cut is a free NBA legends game. Three players, one roster spot: you start one, bench one and cut one. It is the basketball version of the classic three-way pick, played with the greatest players in NBA history rather than teammates or current rosters.

Who is in the Start Bench Cut player pool?

The pool is the 63 legends from our GOAT Calculator, from Bill Russell and Wilt Chamberlain through Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant and LeBron James to Nikola Jokic, Luka Doncic and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Each card shows the player's offence and defence ratings and his career averages.

How does the voting work?

Every start, bench and cut verdict on the site is added to a running tally for that player. Once your round is settled, each card shows the share of rounds in which that player has been started, benched or cut by everyone who has drawn him, so you can see how your verdict compares.
